This class is recommended for students of ages 12-18 and over 100 lbs who have mastered their sailing and seamanship skills. Students in this class will hone their boat handling and sail trim skills, and learn the strategies, tactics, and rules of racing. Sucessful racing requires good equipment, good technique, and a lot of practice. Experience and training is the name of the game. Racing students should expect to spend more time practicing in all weather conditions.
In an effort to build skills and team camaraderie, our race programs at EBSF are offered 3 days per week for 8 weeks. Students are required to bring their own boats. EBSF has a very limited number of boats available for charter. If you need a charter boat please indicate this on your registration form.
In addition to practice, team members will also be expected to participate in regattas around the Bay and Southern New England. Most C420 sailors in the program have a partner whom they plan to sail with, and we strongly encourage C420 sailors to come with a partner, someone with whom they are familiar and share common competitive goals. This relationship should also include an agreement regarding charter boats, boat maintenence, and regatta cost. However, it is not uncommon that C420 sailors, particularly those in their first or second year of competitive sailing may not have settled in with a specific sailing partner (either skipper or crew) and we will work with them to find appropriate matches. Please contact the EBSF Program Director for assistance in finding a skipper / crew to sail with.

Junior sailing classes are held from 9am to 4pm
$1200 (not including boat charter)
Sailing is a very weather affected activity, and all of our classes run rain or shine. Here in the northeast the weather can change on short notice so students should be prepared for hot, cold, sun, rain and wind. Click here for a list required and recommended equipment.
